Beyond Imagination
August 8, 2024
“My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the Lord. “And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine. For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so my ways are higher than your ways and my thoughts higher than your thoughts.” Isaiah 55: 8-9 (NLT)
I can only imagine what God intends to accomplish through Leeds First Methodist Church and in the lives of all our people. I have a glimpse of it, and we see some of it now, but tomorrow, next year, and the next decade hold so much potential.
I trust the anticipation of God that’s captured in Isaiah 55:8, (the Lord says), “… my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine.” Whether that dream feels exciting—or maybe even overwhelming—the reality is, it is something God will accomplish in each of us step-by-step. It truly is through our daily, weekly, and other regular means of grace that God sanctifies us—individually and collectively—for God’s purposes.
Fall On-Ramp
The way we see that happening is through our mission, “To make paths for more people to know and grow like Jesus,” and we see that mission happening through our strategic paths of worshiping, growing, serving, and reaching.
August is our on-ramp month where everyone in the church is invited to take steps to mark your paths to Worship, Grow, and Serve for the Fall Semester from September through January.

Pre-K Director
Molly Rutledge has effectively volunteered as Director of Pre-K kids for the past 3 years. She was part of us launching our Orange strategy in Pre-K and has led in developing curriculum, leading volunteer teachers, and teaching herself. Due to her personal steps to become an administrator in the school system, she has decided to end her role as Leeds FMC Pre-K Director on August 31, 2024. I’m very grateful for all of her work. I look forward to her continued partnership as a member in ministry at Leeds FMC. Thank you, Molly!
We intend to continue our strong ministry for infants and Pre-K children. I’m so grateful for all the volunteers on this team! Over the next few weeks, we’ll announce the who & how to coordinate this vital ministry with our beloved Pre-K kids.
