Dead End or Breakthrough?

October 2, 2024

“God blesses those who are poor and realize their need for him, for the Kingdom of Heaven is theirs.” Matthew 5:3 (NLT)

When you’re at risk of hitting a dead end of faith, or receiving a breakthrough, you have a choice.

The choice depends on if you think Jesus is talking to someone else, or to you, when he said, “God blesses those who are poor and realize their need for him, for the Kingdom of Heaven is theirs.” (Matthew 5:3, NLT). Your life and faith thrive only when the will of God is done on earth—in your prayers, your presence, your giving, your service, and your witness—as it is in heaven.

Those ready to take all of Jesus will receive him and God’s kingdom, but those who think Jesus is only there to deliver their desired outcome are likely to have neither Jesus nor that outcome.

Are you headed for a dead end or a breakthrough in your faith? How are you seeing Jesus leading anew in your life?

Smooth Spaces

Our project to update our spaces to smooth out their use for multiple purposes and by more people continues. We completed work in 2022 to renovate our Family Life center to dramatically improve its use for worship and recreation. This included a stage, lights, and sound equipment and a divider curtain with retractable goal. We can transition from worship to recreation use in fifteen minutes!

At our September meeting, the One Governance Board approved using available funds to begin renovations to the Sanctuary building’s first floor restrooms and congregational pew seating to improve access for those with limited mobility. Your donations designated above a tithe are welcomed to help complete this work. The concept to revamp the sanctuary stage—to make it more accessible—is suspended to honor input from the choir and to best utilize available funds.
